MOTOACTV and integral web portal
MOTOACTV is smart watch built with a fitness tracker and intelligent music player. In the compact form of a wrist watch, the device contains GPS, accelerometer, microphone and speaker, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi module, and runs on android!
Functional as a stand-alone device, MOTOACTV can also connect with your phone and bring information to your wrist.
My responsibilities as the Senior Interaction Designer:
/Designing and documenting UI for fitness tracker, music player, and watch-phone interaction.
/Prototyping and building prototyping tools for design team.
/Visualizing system information architecture.
/Exploring and expanding interaction modalities.
/Brainstorming and storytelling around next-gen smart watch.
Work process
Research
Review competitor products, read research papers, interview users. Discover the landscape, narrow down our target users, and define the product.
Review competitor training applications
Ideate
Brainstorm, sketch ideas, and build user scenarios. Communicate our ideas with storyboards and vision videos.
Pump ideas out and bounce them off the team.
Implement
Prototype ideas and evaluate paths(After Effect, Processing/Java). Document design in wireframes. Work with developers to implement design. Deliver front-end codes (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
Build android prototypes and test on watch.
Interate
Run user studies. Collect and analyze user feedback. Revisit design and propose solutions.
